“UkrSibbank” to finance the project of hull construction by OJSC “Shipyard “Zaliv”
JSCIB «UkrSibbank» began to finance the contract on hull construction performed by OJSC “Shipyard “Zaliv” (city of Kerch, Autonomous Republic of Crimea) against the order of Norwegian Ulstein Hull AS Company.
Within the frame of project financing “UkrSibbank” rendered the facility and issued the guarantee to OJSC “Shipyard “Zaliv”. Total project amount made up EUR 10.8 mln. The purpose of the project is to construct the hull of vessel of DWT 8200 displacement for oil and gas platforms maintenance equipped with the hoisting crane, and platforms for transportation of bulky cargos. It is planned that the project will have been done by November, 2008.
“It is the first joint project of “UkrSibbank” and OJSC “Shipyard “Zaliv”. We do hope that it will be long cooperation, and we plan a range of joint projects, performance of other contracts on shipbuilding, after all the stock of orders of the shipyard “Zaliv” constantly rises” – said Natalya Lavryk, Director of Large Clients Corporate Centre of Corporate Banking Department.
“Shipyard “Zaliv” is one of the largest shipbuilding yards and ship repair facilities in Ukraine which is specialized in the construction of tankers and container vessels as well as reparation of vessels with different dead-weight and purpose. Among the customers of the shipyard there are such well-known companies as Damen Shipyards Group (the Netherlands), S.C. Aker Braila S.A. (Romania) and others. For the first half-year the financial indices of the shipyard “Zaliv” substantially increased, the volume of output for this period amounted to UAH 73.7 mln against such figure for similar period in 2006 at UAH 61.1 mln. Growth rate of output made up 120.6%.
