UkrSibbank to acquire USD 250 000 000 syndicated loan

On the May, 29, 2007 JSCIB “UkrSibbank” held a press conference featuring syndicated loan of USD 250 000 000, being drawn with maturity period of two years. The loan has a floating interest rate of six-years LIBOR + 1.1% per annum. BNP Paribas, Bayerische Landesbank and HSBC Bank participated in the deal as book-runners.

Loan amount initially planned for $150 mln has been considerably increased resulting from resubscription and high demand demonstrated by the investors, and owing to successful joint actions of UkrSibbank and book-runners at the subscription-related stage. Considering UkrSibbank’s need in terms of volume of funds the loan amount has been limited by $250 mln. The acquired funds will be allocated for general corporate targets financing, including, but not limited to, trade finance-related transactions.

This constitutes the 4th syndicated loan acquired by UkrSibbank. November 2005 UkrSibbank received USD 115 000 000 syndicated loan (it was initially assumed to attract M$ 75). 24 leading foreign banks and financial institutions took part in this syndicated loan.

“In 2006 UkrSibbank did not use the syndicated finance instrument as the Bank had some alternative sources of financing with more favorable terms, notably, it should be mentioned the 5-year $500 mln Eurobonds issue in December 2006. Up to now this issue is deemed as one of the largest allocation by Ukrainian banks ever with the lowest coupon rate for non-governmental banks”, - commented Oleksandr Sulayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSCIB “UkrSibbank”.
