UkrSibbank BNP Paribas Group is a traditional leader among the financial institutions of Ukraine.

As of 30 June 2011, according to the IFRS, total assets of the Bank amounted to USD 5 106 mln, equity of the Bank reached USD 204 mln, credit portfolio was equal to USD 2 783 mln, customer accounts – USD 2 520 mln.

As of 01.01.2011 the Bank’s branch network consisted of 731 banking units all over Ukraine. Over 269 thousand Ukrainian corporations, small and medium enterprises are clients of UkrSibbank and the number of individual clients exceeds 1.8 million. The Bank’s strategy is aimed at the development of its retail and investment banking activities as well as the expansion of its international business.

In 2004-2008 UkrSibbank successfully placed five issues of its Eurobonds (LPNs) originated USD 100, 125, 500, 200 and 250 mln. During the initial offering the demand for these issues from foreign investors was very high. In April 2007 UkrSibbank fully repaid its debut USD100 mln Eurobond issue, in July 2008 – USD 125 mln, in July 2010 – USD 200 mln, in August 2011 – USD 250 mln, in December 2011 – USD 500 mln.

In 2005 UkrSibbank attracted two syndicated loans with the amounts of USD 37 and 115 mln for 1 year with the extension option for the same tenor. Having alternative sources of funding, UkrSibbank did not use extension options and fully repaid both credits in 2006. In May 2007 a syndicated loan in the amount of USD 250 mln was arranged for 2 years (repaid in May 2009). In October 2007 a new syndicated loan was arranged with the total amount of USD 110 mln, which consisted of two tranches in the amount of USD 80 mln and USD 30 mln for two and one year respectively (repaid in October 2009 and October 2008 respectively). In the future the Bank will use syndicated loan structure as a way of increasing foreign borrowings, if required. Syndicated loans are interesting not only because of their attractive pricing and the ability to produce a successful credit history on the international capital markets, but also as a convenient procedure to raise funds.

Due to its unique experience UkrSibbank is able to assist other Ukrainian companies with raising foreign funding, as well as receiving international credit ratings.

A substantial factor, that indicates stability and reliability of JSC “UkrSibbank”, is that the Bank has international credit ratings from the leading rating agency Fitch Ratings (as of 01.02.2012):

• In foreign currency: issuer default rating “B” (Stable outlook);

• National scale rating: long-term rating “AAA(ukr)” (Stable outlook).


In April 2006 the deal on the acquisition of the 51.0 % stake in UkrSibbank by BNP Paribas was completed. In June 2009 the stake of BNP Paribas in UkrSibbank was increased to 81.42%, and in 2010 – to 99.99%.  In July 2011 European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) acquired 15% shares of UkrSibbank, thus share of BNP Paribas constituted 84.99%.
