The level of competition in the Ukrainian banking sector is considerably high. Market players demonstrate thoughtful response to any changes of loan and deposit rates among the competitors. The entering of foreign banks which are able to acquire cheaper financial resources abroad had no small part in this process. The last factor lead to decrease of return on assets in general, as the volume of lower-interest-rate loans in foreign currency has grown. In such competition global consequences of foreign banking capital influx should be viewed through the acting legislative standards and based on situation in banking market segments. On the one hand, there are certain concerns of the Ukrainian banks having lost their influence on the market due to low capitalization and clients’ migration to foreign banks. On the other hand, international expertise proves a maximum efficiency of setting up an international bank participating in all the segments of financial market.
